He married Harriet B Broadwell 14 Sep 1852 Sangamon Co, IL. Harriet died 23 Sep 1859 Pleasant Plains, Sangamon Co, IL. Albert Gallatin Popenoe was a farmer in Peoria, IL. He served as a sergeant in the Civil War under Captain John J. Ross, 47th Illinois Volunteers. He was captured and died of fever in a Confederate prison at Demopolis, Alabama.
