was born 1942. 124. Hubert Lowell5 Popenoe Jr (Hubert Lowell4, Edwin Alonzo3, Willis Parkison2, James1) was born Alexandria, Douglas Co, MN 1912.
He married Mary Gardett 26 October 1940. Hubert spent his early years in Kansas, moving to California with his parents in 1923. He entered Pomona College and received a BA degree in geology in 1937. During his professional life he served as a petroleum geologist for a major oil company in California and spent short periods in Venezuela, Tunisia, and Holland. Upon his retirement he purchased a small avocado grove in Fallbrook, California, and in 1985 moved to Silverton, OR.
