She married Ward Woodbridge 15 August 1942. Ward was born 30 October 1920. Ward died 3 May 1991 at 70 years of age. Ward was a pilot, aircraft worker, and model maker. The family moved from southern California to the Seattle area in the early 1960s.

Phyllis Popenoe and Ward Woodbridge had the following children:

child + 171 ii. Peter Ward Woodbridge was born 1946.

child 172 iii. Gary Whiting Woodbridge was born 11 June 1957. Gary died 26 May 1975 at 17 years of age.

child 173 iv. Christopher Mark Woodbridge was born 14 January 1961. Christopher died 4 September 1978 at 17 years of age.
