91. John William⁴ Popenoe (John Walter³, Albert Gallatin², James¹) was born Napa, Napa Co, CA 1 Aug 1906. John died 25 Oct 1990 Clarkston, Asotin Co, WA, at 84 years of age.

He married Thelma May Burrows 7 Oct 1929 Logan, Cache Co, UT. Thelma was born 25 May 1907 Logan, Cache Co, UT. Thelma was the daughter of William Burrows and Sarah Ann Hemingway. Thelma died 22 Dec 1989 Clarkston, Asotin Co, WA, at 82 years of age. John William (whose name on the birth certificate was Joseph William) was sent by his father to live on a farm/ranch so he could learn the trade. He ran away from the farm and worked odd jobs. After marrying, he bought 15 acres (later 10 more) where he grew most of his own fruits and vegetables. He worked in the ship industry and airplane industry, built his own house and other buildings on the farm, learned to fly, restored antiques and antique autos, and bought and sold guns and antiques.

John William Popenoe and Thelma May Burrows had the following children:
